Company History 
 

Stoner-Andrews was incorporated in 1987, effectively merging the already-established businesses of Scott Andrews and Rick Stoner into one entity.

Scott and Rick got their start when they were hired as sub reps in 1978. Back then the territory that was covered was Maine to Virginia and west to Pittsburgh. A close friendship and a passion for the products they sold got them to a point where they had earned the trust and respect of many dealers and manufacturers in the industry. With a solid reputation they struck out on their own, establishing a business model that straddled the ski, outdoor, bike and footwear industries. Along the way they were founders of the Eastern Outdoor Reps Association, an organization that helps promote strong professional bonds between independent reps and retailers from Maine to Florida, as well as producing trade shows biannually on the east coast.

Through the years, Stoner-Andrews has evolved and refined the delivery of service and technical product expertise given to the dealer base. Hiring highly qualified employees positioned throughout the territory ensures that the dealers we call on are well serviced and motivated to better sell our product offerings. Additionally, regional training seminars are produced by Stoner-Andrews on an annual basis to bring our dealers together with product development personnel from the companies represented.

Rick Stoner started in the outdoor business as a sub rep with Scott Andrews in 1978, selling climbing gear and packs from Maine to Virginia. In 1987 Stoner-Andrews was formed to rep in the New England territory. Married with 3 wonderful daughters, a great wife Theresa, and Olive the dog, Rick spends his free time beekeeping, skiing, mountain and road biking, running, fishing, and playing squash and tennis.

Scott Andrews' first introduction to the outdoor business was through his passion for skiing both downhill and cross country. He worked retail at the Alpine Shop in South Burlington while in school and moved into repping in 1978. His early career crossed paths with Rick Stoner and the two established Stoner-Andrews in 1987. Their enduring friendship and business partnership is still strong after 30 years. Scott and Rick have received multiple awards as outstanding reps from several leading companies. Scott enjoys skiing , mountain biking, road biking, fishing, hunting, and tennis. He has three sons and a daughter.

Scott Byrne (Byrnsie) joined Stoner-Andrews in 1999 after a 5-year stint at Country Sports in Canton, CT doing pretty much everything from building bikes to buying camping equipment.  Married with 1 daughter (Willow) and 1 dog (Timber), Byrnsie enjoys mountain and road biking, backpacking, skiing, paddling, trail/stunt building, and brewing beer.   Byrnsie covers CT, RI, Western MA, and Southern VT.

Allison Frazier joined Stoner-Andrews in 2006 after building 6 years of experience in outdoor retail management, buying, and marketing at the Alpine Shop in South Burlington, Vermont. A native Vermonter, you can often find her windsurfing or wakeboarding on Lake Champlain, skiing at Smuggs, mountain biking, or playing the saxophone with wedding band Shakedown.

Michael Derhammer first got his feet wet in the outdoor industry during his college years at East Stroudsburg University. A jack-of-all-trades, Mike did everything from ski lifty to rafting assistant to NJ high angle rescue. After college he joined Kittery Trading Post where he quickly became involved in product improvement. This lead to a position at Riverside Cartop Carriers, where he developed 13 different products and serviced accounts. With Stoner-Andrews since 2012, Mike can often be found kayak surfing at Long Sands Beach in Maine, or running the beautiful coast of NH when not chasing his two children.

Adam Sullivan joined Stoner-Andrews in early 2013.  He has worked in bicycle retail for close to 15 years.  Most recently Adam managed Caster's Bicycles & Fitness in Warwick, RI.  He joins Stoner-Andrews in hopes of putting the skills he's learned in the bicycle industry to use on a broader playing field.  Adam was born and raised in Rhode Island, where he currently lives.  When he's not plying his trade he can be found on his bike, either on the road or in the woods or even mixing it up on the cross course.  He also loves food, cooking, and the outdoors.
